The 9700 is a combined sewing machine and computerized embroidering system.
It will perform day-to-day sewing tasks and is the ideal machine for soft furnishings, garment construction and quilting projects.
Large multi colour embroidery designs can be chosen from the machine's built-in selection and designs can be purchased on card, CD or via the web as downloads. You can even create your own designs on PC with the optional design software.

You'll love this colour touch-screen
Do it all from here: select a stitch or embroidery design, customize, add more designs or lettering, check the position before stitching out - it's just too easy!
|
Clever screen!
Select a design and edit at the touch of your finger - now here's the really clever bit: as you move your finger across the screen the design moves with you, so you can easily position designs into the embroidery frame - no more guessing. You can then do a speeded up trial run without actually stitching the design; this way, you'll know the design is going to be sewn out in the correct position.
|
Clever Machine! 9700 has sensors that bleep a warning and will eventually stop the machine should either lower or upper thread break or run too low. After replacing your thread, 9700 continues embroidering the design from where it left off. You can even back track to sew over any missed stitching that may have occurred as the thread ran out. Also, if you forget to lower the presser foot when starting to sew, the machine pleeps a warning and it will not run until the foot is lowered. |
|
Quick to change
Change quickly from ordinary sewing to embroidery (no awkward embroidery module needed) it's all built-in. Janome have design patents on their combined systems.
9700 is supplied with a 5" x 4.3" hoop and a large 5.5" x 7.9" hoop. And it works with optional Giga Hoop (9.1" x 7.9") and optional sleeve-arm hoop (2" x 2")
Because 9700 has the embroidery system built-in, you'll find there's greater accuracy with your embroidery, and the designs will come out neater than those produced on machines where a separate module has to be fitted.

Do your own thing!
Use your PC and the optional embroidery design software to create your own designs. Your design is then transferred from your computer across to the 9700 by standard Compact Flash Card (as used on many types of digital camera) These cards are readily available from camera stores, PC and electrical stores etc.

Easy touch-screen stitch selecting.
98 practical, utility, decorative and quilt stitches plus alphabet. 7 styles of 1-Step Auto Sized buttonhole includes: standard, round and keyhole. It's so easy; displayed on-screen is your menu of stitches / patterns - you simply touch your required stitch and away you go! Correct stitch length and width are automatically selected for you. These settings are easily changed to your own preferences, if required. The well lit screen details your chosen stitch. It can then be customized, grouped with other patterns to make a border, and can even be stored in a memory. The screen even tells you which presser foot to use for the particular stitch or pattern that you are sewing.

Top-load Jam-proof bobbin
Bobbin is easily accessed on the bed of the machine and you can keep a check on its status via the see-through cover plate.

The sewing bed slides away to access the sleeve-arm (free-arm) This lets you sew around trouser bottoms, sleeves or cuffes.

Built-in needle threading
Pull down the threader lever, place thread into threader hook and your needle will be threaded.
