 | Drop Feed Facility Lowering the feed teeth is easy - just move the switch that's located at the rear of the machine. Lowering the feed will allow freehand sewing and is great for mending rips and holes in garments. Plus, it's just the thing for sewing on buttons. Lowering the feed (also known as Drop-Feed facility) is where the machine's teeth are lowered safely out of the way. This allows the machinist to freely move the fabric in any direction, whilst stitching. This technique is used in freehand embroidery and freehand quilt embellishment.
